Here is my beef chilli recipe....for a super-quick supper
My ingredients:
2-3 tablespoons Rape seed oil
1 large onion, sliced
575g Sainsbury's Steak Mince
1 tin Sainsburys Tomatoes
1 tin Sainsburys Red Kidney Beans
4 garlic cloves, crushed
1 teaspoon of Marjoram or Oregano
1 teaspoon each of Chilli pepper, Cayenne, Cumin, Sweet Paprika
Sliced Carrots - from a bag of Sainsbury's prepared vegetables
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon Sainsbury's Beef Gravy Granules
1 Oxo Beef Stock cube
Good splash of boiling water
How to prepare:
1. Heat oil in preserving pan and saute sliced onions
2. Add Steak Mince and sear and brown
3. Add remaining ingredients and make everything very hot
4. Bring up to 15lb. pressure in your pressure cooker. Set timer for 5 minutes, turn down heat to a obtain a gentle hissing sound, and cook for the set time.
5. Release pressure under cool running water, then remove lid, test for seasoning and serve with hot veggie rice.
If you do not have a pressure cooker, cook in a casserole to stage three and just cook in a hot oven for about 20 - 30 minutes until mixture cooked and piping hot.
The veggie rice - I always keep tubs of cooked vegetable-rice in the freezer for speedy meal-times, and take one out, add a splash of boiling water, then micro-wave defrost for 6 minutes and then cook on full power for between 5 - 10 until piping hot and ready to serve.
You can add soured cream and mango chutney if you like to. I know I do!
