Well, its Easter time and I've been making organic cinnamon buns and hot cross buns all week. I just love to eat hot cross buns and, like Mince Pies at Christmas time, they're a must have ingredient for the Easter festival; also like chocolate money and Christmas pudding and all the other lovely festival edibles we must have for those special occasions!
It's been a busy week for food and eating, with our book club "eats evening" on Tuesday, for which I baked a chocolate and Toblerone egg custard tart - Mmm. so delicious by itself but then I also added a bowl of mixed summer berries with a jug of pouring cream. But OMG no photo because it went so quickly but I'll make another one soon and take photos of that - promise!!! Before the tart, we enjoyed hot baked potatoes with all kinds of salads, salsas, and dips and it was all most scrumptious!

On Wednesday, I was at a family birthday party, with a menu offering casserole of lovely lamb with apricots, followed by cake and cream, with wine too!!!
On Thursday, I was at my Women's Institute meeting at Adderbury when we enjoyed a talk about an organisation - the Adderbury Ensemble - with its CEO describing how he came to set up this group to promote string quartet music and his musical career as a violinist. Our new President held her first meeting and one lucky member won the ballot to attend the special Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace this summer, to celebrate the centenary of the Women's Institute. The movement began in 1897, the idea having come over from Canada where the movement started in 1897 in Stoney Creek, Ontario. The first WI in Britain opened in Llanfair, Anglesey, on 16th September 1915 and as part of this year's celebrations, a Centenary Baton has been travelling around the country, going from group to group with celebrations to mark its arrival everywhere. Our Adderbury & District WI, of which I'm the Communications committee member, will host a centenary celebration evening in September. We meet up monthly, have talks on a wide variety of subjects, enjoy discussions, go to all kinds of social functions and help at fund-raising activities in the village and for our own group. We're also on FaceBook.

On Good Friday, my family met up for supper after a special Easter Service at a tiny, ancient church, on the far edge of Oxfordshire. We swapped Easter presents and it was so good to be together at this special festival.
We've also been looking after the Dear SO's granddaughter, Cherry, and another granddaughter, Chloe's adorable little puppy, Lola Bear!

and I've been gardening, shopping and making hot cross buns! Phew, its been a very busy week.
| freshly baked and toasted for that extra Easter deliciousness!!! |
Well, I've got to go fix supper as He's gone off to do something else, instead of doing supper and, I still have another blog to write today and, there's a whole pile of ironing to do!!!
Will it never end, I ask myself!!!
Happy Easter everybody xxx
